Birthday Money

I did it again. It seems like every time a birthday comes around and I end up with a little cash in my pocket it goes for a "need" instead of a "want". I have had some money tucked away thinking maybe I would get to use it for a new shirt or two. Normally, I end up buying food with it. I don't say this to act like a martyr, it is just a fact. For the past several years I have been very grateful for a little extra here and there and if it takes birthdays and Christmas to have that little extra cash, well... works for me!

So what did I end up using it for this time?

I guess I could look at it as an investment..... I ended up buying some sterling silver chain, some leather cord (the reason for this will be discussed later), and some earring components. I will post the earrings later but this is what the chain is for... (or at least something similar).

Or it may end up looking similar to this one.

These Mother's or Grandmother's necklaces (and bracelets) are all custom made. Each one is different and special. The bottom one happens to belong to my mom and I already have a new great nephew that needs to be added on. What a blessing a family is. I love mine!

Did I mention that it isn't even my birthday yet?!

Reviving a Blog

So...how does one go about reviving a blog?

I decided that writing would be a good place to start. I had every intention of taking this blog places when I began writing a few years ago. Life just seems to get in the way some times. Or could it be that I just have not had any extra words? I do homeschool four children now (although my 14 yr. old refuses to be called a child).

What have I been up to since two years ago when I let the blog take a back seat?

Lots!

Lots and lots of jewelry was made.

Schooling my children (and teen).

Trips to Idaho to see family and spend time on the ranch.

My father passed away.

My girls moved up in ballet and are dancing more than ever.

We went from a no pet home to owning a dog and a rabbit.

For now, let me leave you with a recent picture of my kids.

I will be back though, I promise!!
